Agility Team member
An exciting opportunity to become a member of our new agility team. Sucesful applicants will be put onto a rota and will be required to give agility training to our dogs. This will take place with our own agility equipment in the Animal Centre yard form 2.00pm until 4.00pm.
Training and guidance provided throughout.
Assisting the animal centre by providing temporary care for animals. The types of animals fostered vary greatly but generally foster homes are needed for:
Pregnant and Nursing
Young kittens/puppies
Convalescent e.g. recuperating from illness/injury
Animals that require assessment/training or socialisation
Suitable animals will be placed after a home visit has been carried out and all food, medication and equipment is provided.

Small Animal Unit Assistant
We have a number of small animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, gerbils, ferrets etc that require cleaning and socialisation on a daily basis, this vacancy is from 10.15pm - 12pm.
Interesting and varied work. Volunteers need to be used to dealing with the general public, have good telephone and communication skills and be able to remain calm in sometimes difficult situations. Applicants must be able to commit for at least a year for a minimum of 1 day per week, only selected applicants will be invited to interview.


Cattery/ Kennel Assistant
Involves feeding, cleaning and other general duties as required.
This involves spending some quality time with the animals, helping to socialise nervous or depressed dogs/cats, kittens/puppies etc…
Dog Walking
This are is vital for the well-being and happiness of our kennelled dogs. All walkers must attend a training session before beginning to walk the dogs.
Van Driver
Van calls can include dropping off and collecting animals from foster homes, picking up animals from the vets, collecting donated goods and much more!
Volunteer van drivers must have a full, clean driving licence and be aged 25yrs or older.
The Branch has an established portfolio of fundraising events which are held every year and there are many ways which you can help ensure that they continue to be a success. You can donate or collect prizes, bake a cake, put up posters or come along on the day and run a stall, drive a van, or put up gazebos. You could also help with the following:
· Flag Day collections
· Annual Dog and Horse Shows
· Annual Coffee Days
· Supermarket collections
· Other fund-raisers which we organise throughout the year
We should be able to offer advice and support in any fundraising ideas you may have.
Charity Shop Assistant
Duties include sorting and pricing stock, using the till, serving customers and other general duties. We have shops situated in Halifax Town Centre, King Cross, Brighouse, Hebden Bridge, Elland and Huddersfield
Branch Trustee
The branch is run by a committee of trustees (minimum 7, maximum 14 people) who are responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the branch and its delivery of animal welfare, safeguarding the assets and funds and setting policies.
We are keen to attract people with business skills and who have an interest in Animal welfare to become trustees so we can secure the future of the Branch and continue our vital animal welfare work.
