Properties and Effects
Chlorhexidine is a well established disinfectant, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal ingredient. It has proved reliable to maintain a normal plaque-free environment in the mouth and is a supportive product in animals recovering from gingivitis and skin fold dermatitis. It is especially effective in the mouth and, unlike other actives, chlorhexidine is bound to proteins and enamel and is released slowly over a period of 24 hours giving a “depot” effect. dentisept® is specially formulated in a palatable paste for ease of application and acceptance and adheres to the mucous membrane in the mouth as well as the teeth. By maintaining a normal environment in the mouth the formation of damaging properties like tartar and plaque can be slowed or even avoided by regular application of dentisept®.

Uses
dentisept® contains chlorhexidine which has well established disinfectant, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties used to support dogs and cats recovering from Gingivitis, Skin Fold Dermatitis, Stomatitis, Periodontitis, Plaque and Tartar.

Administration
For application directly into the mouth it is recommended to attach the enclosed applicator to the tube. This will allow easier access to the rear gums. Externally, the paste should be carefully spread on the affected area using a clean finger. In the mouth the paste daily or weekly depending on the condition. For best results when being applied to the mouth dentisept® should be used after feeding.

dentisept® is extremely well tolerated. In very few cases, cats can react with increased salivation.
