UPDATED: A message to our Supporters

UPDATE 24/04/2020

First of all we would like to say to a big Thank You to everyone who has donated to our Emergency Appeal, we have been overwhelmed by your generosity and can't thank you enough for your support.

It has now been one month since the Lockdown began and it has been one of the most worrying times in our Branches history, but thanks to the amazing Animal Centre Staff and the wonderful Finance and Fundraising Teams - we are surviiving!!

As you will know, at the end of March we had to close all of our Charity Shops, cancel all fundraising activities and stop adoptions and public interaction at our Animal Centre. This has had a devastating effect on our regular income and we have been trying to think of different ways we can keep funds coming in.

Thankfully we have an online Vet Shop and Pet Shop which has some very loyal customers who have still purchased items from us! We also have tried some online events including a Virtual Pet Show and Easter Raffle that raised over £500.

We do have more online events in the pipeline including a Pet Portrait Competition and possibly some online versions of our Furry Friends and K9 Party in the Park! Keep an eye on our News and Events pages for more information on this.

Although our Charity Shops still remain closed for the time being, we are pleased to announce that we have been allowed to commence adoptions again under certain restrictions and guidelines - you can find out more about this by visiting:

If you do have any queries on any of the above, please contact:

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and we really do hope to see you all soon

***CORONAVIRUS UPDATE*** 24/3/2020

Due to the UK government announcement last night (23rd March) our Animal Centre will now be closed to the general public for the next 3 weeks.

Please note that we cannot accept animals from the public and all adoptions/viewings and appointments will be suspended and our charity shops are also closed. We would ask the public to kindly hold on to any donations of items/food and not to take them to our Centre or Shops for the time being. This is to comply with the government’s current advice on any unnecessary journeys.

If you have any welfare concerns please call our national cruelty line for advice: 0300 1234 999. If you have a badly injured stray or wild animal please call your local vet for advice. Please do not attend a vet practice without calling first.

We would like to reassure you that the animals in our Centre are still receiving their usual round-the-clock care by our incredible animal care assistant team and centre staff! This really is a testing time but currently our staff and animals are safe and well and we hope you are too.??

If you would like to support the charity through the Covid19 crisis you can donate to our #HelpUsHelpThem Appeal here: or hit the donate button below.

Thank you and we will be sure to keep you all updated over the course of the next few weeks. Thank you for your support.

Kind regards,
All staff & animals at RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford.

To all of our incredible supporters:

Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, we would like to reassure the public that our staff and animals are currently well and the running of our Centre and caring for our furry residents is always paramount. For this reason we will be running our centre on an appointment-only basis and will be dealing with essential visits only to ensure the wellbeing of our staff and furry residents.

We will continue with animal adoptions wherever possible - but please call our centre to arrange this and speak with a member of staff. For any donations or recycling drop-offs, please ring the bell and leave them outside our Centre for our staff to collect to reduce any unnecessary contact.

If you need to collect food, medication, other treatments or have any other kind of please, call the Centre to make an appointment or place an order from our online shop by visiting:, we are also able to take payment over the phone or post items out to you for a small fee.

You can also contact the Centre via email – for any less urgent enquiries.

Our charity shops currently remain open - we are operating deep cleans as frequently as possible, wearing gloves to prevent unnecessary contact whilst also offering all staff, volunteers and customers access to hand sanitiser. Our offices can still be contacted (Branch Office: 01422 341160 - Animal Centre: 01422 365628) and if you need to report any animal welfare concerns/cruelty complaints - please ring the National RSPCA as always on 0300 1234 999.

We hope you are all keeping safe and well, this is of course an extremely difficult time for our branch, but we will endeavour to keep running as normally as possible for the sake of the animals in our care and would like to thank our incredible staff for their ongoing hard work throughout this difficult time. Our charity, like so many other charities/businesses and individuals, has already been significantly financially affected by the current circumstances – if you would like to support us and help us to continue our work and the running of the Centre, there are many ways to help......
