Branch Trustee - Legal
Could you share your legal expertise?
At the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch we are currently on the lookout for a new trustee with legal expertise to join our board. As a trustee of our branch, your duties would be to attend regular trustee and committee meetings with an aim to maintain and develop the branch. We have an exciting few years ahead of us, with the potential of a new animal centre and an interest in diversifying our fundraising portfolio. To help us fulfil these ambitions, we are looking for a new, experienced and committed trustee to play an essential role in the governance and development of the charity.
While we have several members with a legal background, we’d be interested to hear from anyone with current legal acumen. In particular, someone well versed in employment law would be very welcome but this is not essential. We are looking for a committed individual who will bring their legal expertise and skills to help us deliver our ambitious strategy and our vision to be able to help more animals in the region.
Who we’re looking for
You will be an individual of exceptional calibre with a clear commitment to animals and their welfare. You will be a legal professional with experience at a senior level in a commercial, public sector or not for profit environment. You will bring vision, excellent communication skills and an understanding of robust governance. With a wealth of experience and credibility, you will be able to operate effectively at board level or equivalent.
You will need to be able to make a commitment to RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch and have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind.
What’s in it for you?
For those with a passion for animal welfare, volunteering as a trustee with your local RSPCA branch and the leading animal shelter in the region, can be a very rewarding role. Your input could directly influence the future of the branch, ensuring we continue to help hundreds of animals each year. Possibly even thousands if our new animal centre comes to fruition!
This is the opportunity to be part of a great charity and give back to a valuable cause.
If you think this role sounds right for you and you’d be interested in volunteering your time to help the largest animal welfare charity in the region, we’d love to hear from you.
