Mater was found covered in oil and hiding in a car for shelter

Meet Mater: A Kitten Who Deserves a Second Chance

On June 10th a desperate soul was brought into us needing a caring and safe place, after arriving covered in oil and terrified. We suspect this poor kitten had been hiding in a car for shelter and was found by a passerby wanderin in People’s Park, Halifax.

Covered head to paw in black oil, Mater was trembling, scared, =and alone. It’s heartbreaking to imagine the fear he must have felt, seeking shelter wherever he could, with no one to turn to.

When Mater arrived at our rescue, he was weak and in need of some TLC. We carefully cleaned away the grime that clung to his fur and showed him what love feels like!

Mater is slowly starting to trust again, he’s still a little cautious of the world after a traumatic start but his personality is showing through and he’s one incredible little fellow!

We appealed to find Mater’s home, thinking he may have been lost however no owners came along, so this sweet little boy is now safe in our care and on the road to recovery. In case you’re wondering, our team chose his name after the character ‘Mater’ from the film Cars! We think it suits him perfectly!

He will of course need plenty of TLC,  a warm, safe place to grow strong, and ultimately a loving forever home. These vital resources come at a cost, and that’s where your kindness can make all the difference. To make sure we can support Mater’s journey to adoption and many other animals in similar circumstances who will inevitably need our care, please make a donation to support our vital work here:  https://donate.stripe.com/28E5kCatGf2RbMK33D0oM3Q

Your support funds medical treatment, food, shelter, and rehabilitation to give these animals a second chance at life.

Every pound you give brings Mater closer to the happy ending he deserves.
