In Loving Memory of Audrey Bersée

We would like to pay special tribute to Audrey Bersée, a devoted supporter of the RSPCA who passed away in April 2025 at the remarkable age of 103.

Audrey’s love for animals was evident throughout her life. She was a regular volunteer at the Trinity Street Shop in Huddersfield from its early days, sharing many Saturday afternoons there with her friend, Audrey Hardy. Fondly known as “the two Audrey’s,” their dedication became a familiar and much-loved part of the shop’s weekend rhythm. Audrey’s commitment to animal welfare also inspired one of her daughters to follow in her footsteps and volunteer alongside her.

Her daughters – Sue, Judy, and Jo – shared this heartfelt message:
“Please accept the enclosed donation in memory of our dear mother, Audrey Bersée, who died on 22nd April 2025. Audrey was a passionate animal lover and lifelong supporter of the RSPCA. She found great joy in her years of volunteering as a ‘Saturday girl’ at the Trinity Street Shop, Huddersfield.”

Audrey also kindly left a gift of £500 to the RSPCA in her will – a generous legacy that will go a long way in helping the animals we care for. We are deeply grateful for her enduring support.

Our thoughts are with Sue, Judy, Jo, and all those who knew and loved Audrey during this time of loss. Her kindness and commitment will be long remembered.
