This spring, we’re inviting dog lovers and their four-legged companions to take part in something truly meaningful: a joyful sponsored walk that directly helps change the future for rescue animals.
Every step you take (and every pound you raise!) will go towards our Really Big ReFURb, an ambitious project to transform our well-loved (and well-worn) animal centre into a modern, welcoming space where animals can feel safe, cared for, and ready for their second chance.

Your £5 entry gets you and your pup a fantastic day out, including:
- A goody bag full of treats
- A special rosette to celebrate your achievement
- The chance to be part of something bigger for animals in need
But the real impact comes from fundraising.
We’re encouraging every participant to turn their walk into a mini fundraiser. By asking friends, family, neighbours, or colleagues to sponsor you, you can multiply the difference you make. Even small donations quickly add up, helping us get closer to creating a better future for every animal that comes through our doors.
The Walk 🐕
Set against the stunning backdrop of Castle Hill in Huddersfield, you can choose the route that suits you best:
- A short, accessible loop from the top car park – ideal for pushchairs or anyone needing an easier route
- A longer 2-mile walk, perfect for dogs of all ages (with a gentle uphill stretch for a bit of adventure!)
Whether you go big on sponsorship or simply come along for the day, every step helps.
