Can you help us with Inka’s £1000+ life-saving surgery costs?

💙Can you help us with Inka’s life-saving surgery costs?💙

Meet Inka, a 6-year-old French Bulldog with the biggest heart you will ever find and a tail that never stops wagging, even when life has been unbelievably tough.

When she arrived in our care, it was clear she was struggling. With one of the flattest faces we have ever seen, every step came with painful snorts, gasps for air, and sometimes even shivering. And yet, despite all of this, Inka’s spirit shone through, brave, sweet, and full of love.

We suspect Inka may have been bred in the past, and her six years have not been easy. She has battled chronic ear infections, painful skin issues causing hair loss, weight loss, urinary concerns, and joint problems, all of which required specialist care and surgery. At one point, she even had a brief and frightening seizure, showing just how fragile her health was.

Her bravery shone through again when she underwent BOAS surgery to open her airways and give her a chance to breathe more freely. But her journey did not stop there. During recovery, we discovered she has a heart murmur, which will require ongoing monitoring. Inka will also need medications for the rest of her life to support her heart, joints, and overall health. We estimate these will cost around £50 per month, and we can promise she is worth every penny.

Inka is not just surviving, she is thriving. Since her surgery, she is breathing easier, moving more comfortably, and starting to enjoy life in a way she never could before. Her resilience and joy are contagious, and she has truly earned the chance to be happy and healthy. She will also be added to our Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme even though she is only six, giving a local adopter reduced-cost adoption fees and ongoing veterinary care.

The cost of Inka’s treatment has been huge for our local, self-funded branch, especially as we are in the middle of our Really Big ReFURb, a complete rebuild of our animal centre. That is why we need your help. We are aiming to raise £1,132 to cover her BOAS surgery follow-up care, veterinary assessments, scans, monitoring, and medications.

Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards Inka’s care and will help our branch continue rescuing and supporting other animals in need, just like her.
