Can you help us with 3-month-old puppy, Little Alex’s £541 care costs?
Animals come into our care for a variety of reasons, sometimes an owner may be struggling to provide specific care and simply needs some help and support. ❤️
3-month-old Alex found himself at our Centre for this very reason and was suffering from a severe case of Demodectic Mange that was itchy and painful, resulting in him losing over 40% of his coat.
From the moment this tiny and terrified boy came through our doors, our team worked hard to get him on the road to recovery. Alex was petrified at his first vet visits, shaking through all of his skin scrapes, assessments and treatments. 😢
As Mange is transferrable to other cats and dogs, our team have had to be incredibly cautious when handling Alex, barrier nursing at all points. However, we’ve now successfully treated Alex, his most recent skin results have come back clear and we no longer need to provide barrier care!🙌
Alex’s hair is beginning to grow back and although he’s still, understandably, a little scared of the world, we’re beginning to see waggy tail moments, a spring in his step and a puppy-ish glint in his big brown eyes! There’s no better feeling in the world for us here at the branch!😍
As grateful as we are for Alex’s recovery, all of this care has amounted to nearly £550 and we would be so appreciative of any contributions towards this. Our resources are always extremely stretched as a self-funded, local charity but even more so at this difficult time of year.
With the help of our supporters and local community, we can continue to be there for animals who need us, just like Little Alex! To make a donation visit:https://donate.stripe.com/8wMdSK5XWakRf4saHQ🙏
It may still be a few weeks before Alex is ready for rehoming, our team are working closely with him to build up his health and confidence, so we can find him the perfect home. We’ll make sure we give him the best Christmas possible and we can’t wait to watch him find love in 2025!
If you can’t donate please share this story to help us not only raise funds but raise profile of the vital work we do within our local area. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas everyone!
